HICOCA’s Fully Automated Multi-head Weighing, Bundling, And Stand-up Pouch Packaging Line For Dried Noodles Enables Large-scale, End-to-end Production Of Portion-controlled Products

As the pace of life accelerates and households become smaller, consumer demand for portion-controlled dried noodles in specific packaging formats continues to rise. Different households and consumption scenarios require varied portion sizes; high-end supermarkets and boutique retail channels show particularly strong demand for standardized, small-format stand-up pouches, offering significant profit potential in the premium portion-controlled noodle market. However, domestic manufacturers have long relied on standalone, segmented operations for such products—requiring manual assistance for bundling, bagging, and sealing. This approach results in high labor requirements, low production efficiency, high energy consumption, and inconsistent weight accuracy, making large-scale, standardized continuous production impossible and severely hindering companies’ high-end product strategies and market expansion.

To address these common industry pain points, HICOCA’s technical team undertook a dedicated R&D initiative to create a fully automated, integrated production line for multi-head weighing, bundling, and stand-up pouch packaging. This system achieves seamless automation from the point where noodles exit the drying chamber to final product warehousing, eliminating the need for manual transfer, bagging, or palletizing. It comprehensively boosts production capacity, reduces labor needs, and lowers energy consumption, thereby removing equipment-related barriers to the mass production of portion-controlled noodles in stand-up pouches.

I. Integrated Equipment Configuration with Seamless Process Coordination

The production line consists of nine core units operating in a coordinated, synchronized manner under a centralized intelligent control system:

High-precision cutter Curved intelligent feeding system Multi-station weigher Bundling machine Bundling conveyor Intelligent product alignment unit Automatic pusher Stand-up pouch packaging machine Checkweigher with dual-rejection mechanism Flat-bag bagging machine Robotic palletizer

The line features a modular design, allowing for flexible adjustment of the number of weighing stations to suit the capacity requirements of small, medium, and large-scale dried noodle factories.

II. End-to-End Intelligent Production Process with Comprehensive Quality Control

Intelligent Cutting and Feeding:

Whole rods of dried noodles from the drying chamber are fed into a high-precision cutter for accurate, fixed-length cutting according to preset specifications. Loose noodles are smoothly diverted to various weighing stations via a curved intelligent feeding system, ensuring seamless material flow without breakage or accumulation.

Precision Multi-Scale Weighing and Bundling:

Multiple weighing units perform independent, precise weighing followed by automatic bundling. Bundled products are consolidated via conveyor and fed into an intelligent product handling unit for alignment and stretching, ensuring uniform shaping.

Fully Automated Stand-up Pouch Forming and Packaging:

After alignment, the system automatically selects and pushes the bundles based on preset counts, feeding them directly into a stand-up pouch packaging machine. This machine handles film-roll bag forming, filling, and sealing—eliminating the need for manual pre-made bag insertion—thereby significantly reducing packaging material and labor costs.

Robotic Palletizing and Warehousing:

Finished large bags are conveyed to the palletizing zone, where robots automatically perform layered stacking. The finished goods are then transferred directly to the warehouse, enabling an unmanned end-of-line operation.

The entire process flows automatically, minimizing human contact; this not only elevates food hygiene standards but also ensures consistent product appearance and weight, while drastically reducing losses from broken noodles and defective products.

A spokesperson for Haikejia’s R&D division stated: “Competition in the dried noodle industry is intensifying, making differentiated, font-weight packaging key to a company’s breakthrough; however, outdated standalone machinery models struggle to support mass production. The newly launched fully automated production line—featuring multi-head weighing, bundling, and stand-up bag packaging—is designed specifically to solve three major industry pain points: high labor requirements, low output, and difficulties in scaling up. By integrating cutting, weighing, bundling, stand-up bag formation, check-weighing, and palletizing into a single, seamless line, we replace manual labor with automation. This helps food manufacturers reduce labor costs and boost hourly productivity, enabling them to capitalize on the lucrative market for high-end, fixed-weight dried noodles.”

The implementation of this fully automated production line—featuring multi-head weighing and bundling capabilities for 3D-style bags—fills a gap in fully automated packaging equipment for high-end, quantitatively portioned dried noodles. It facilitates the domestic noodle industry’s transition toward standardization, intelligent manufacturing, and large-scale operations, thereby empowering the high-quality development of the grain, oil, and food sectors through domestically produced intelligent equipment.
